The Work
In.Vision Architecture,
Firm History
After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1973, Michael intended to pursue a graduate degree in Pre-Columbian Art History, an early interest of his. However, in the course of traveling around Europe for four and a half months in early 1974, inspired by both the modern and the ancient structures he saw, Michael decided instead to study architecture. Five years later he graduated with a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Houston. After graduation, Michael moved to Denver, to be close to the mountains he had learned to love in his growing up years.
In August 1982, after having worked for architecture firms in both Houston and Denver, Michael founded In.Vision Architecture, in order to explore his own vision and follow his own passions. In the years since, he has had the opportunity to design a wide range of project types, both commercial and residential, in a variety of settings and locales. Through it all, he has continued to hold fast to the values and interests he had in 1982, when he first set out on his own.
Areas of Practice
In.Vision Architecture provides architectural services for a wide range of project types. Where needed, through the relationships with our consultants we also provide structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and geotechnical engineering services for our projects.
New construction of single-family homes and duplexes, as well as additions and renovations to existing homes.
New construction and renovations of multi-family buildings, from triplexes to multi-story buildings. We have extensive experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) work. Bringing properties into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is another area of expertise.
Restaurants, visitor and travel accommodations, event centers and related projects are all within our experience.
We have designed retail spaces for home décor, children’s toys, women’s clothing, and many other types of merchandise. The first task of retail design is to get people in the door, and whether a pad site, a strip center, or an enclosed shopping center. That is what In.Vision Architecture does.
We have designed offices spaces and exterior signage; small town libraries and residential rehabilitation facilities; cultural centers and a non-profit ophthalmic clinic in Battambang, Cambodia. Work flow assessments, space planning, and biophilic design principles are among the things in our toolbox.

Michael is a Licensed Architect in the States of Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Texas and Michigan. His work has been published in Colorado Homes and Lifestyles and Better Homes & Gardens / Remodeling Ideas Magazine, and was featured in the 2005 Park Hill Home Tour in Denver. The firm has participated in several national and international competitions, among which are KOMA (Korean Arts and Cultural Center, Los Angeles, California) and The International Palos Verdes Art Center Competition (Palos Verdes, California, for design of a new facility for a cultural and artistic landmark founded in 1931).
